As Father’s Day approaches, Eyes Open International (EOI) takes a moment to celebrate the remarkable contributions of its President and Co-Founder, Harold Henry D’Souza and the unique father-son partnership that drives the organization’s mission. This Father’s Day, EOI highlights the essential role of fathers and the rewarding yet complex relationships they share with their children.

Rohan D’Souza, a Board Member of EOI and son of the co-founders, Harold and Dancy D’Souza reflects on the journey he shares with his father. “Working alongside my father has been an incredibly enriching experience,” says Rohan. “Earlier this year, we presented our first joint workshop. I attended in person from Canada while my father joined virtually from India, demonstrating our shared commitment to the cause despite geographical challenges.”

The father-son duo’s dedication to fighting human trafficking has not only strengthened their bond but also propelled EOI to new heights. “The role of a father is not always simple or easy, nor is the relationship he shares with his children. However, it is always rewarding for everyone involved,” notes Rohan. This sentiment resonates deeply within EOI’s community, where the values of family and teamwork are integral to their mission.

Tracy Issac Executive Director and Co-Founder at The Hope Project, USA based spoke to the press from Kathmandu, Nepal; “It is an honor and privilege to share about our friend, Harold D'Souza. We have utmost respect and love for Harold who models humility, grace, kindness, morals, and strength in character and resilience for his family and all of our society. Harold is an encouragement, support and inspiration for Survivors and also for those of us who also strive to take a stand against the epidemic of Human Trafficking”.

We are forever grateful for the support and powerful impact Harold played by graciously being our guest speaker at the first ‘Hope for Freedom Conference’ in Hyderabad India which enabled the need for Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention to be spread on a much broader and influential level within India. On another occasion, Harold and his son, Bradly also gave their time to come and speak and encourage our village youth.

This man, whom we are proud to know, is the epitome of a genuine role model as a Survivor turned Hero, and as a Father, Friend, and Freedom Fighter!!”, reflected Tracy Issac.

EOI is currently collaborating with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office for their 2024 trafficking summit in August. This significant event will feature father-son ‘Harold-Rohan’, on a workshop led by EOI, aimed at educating and empowering attendees on the critical issue of human trafficking.

“We are honored to be part of this summit and to contribute to the fight against trafficking at such a high level,” says Rohan. This partnership marks another milestone in EOI’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness and drive change.
