Mangalore : August 3  Kerala-Karnataka border traffic which has been closed for the past four months has not yet been opened, according to the government's covid unlock 3 Guidelines. In the meantime, Kasargod district has been providing daily passes for people in government, private sector and medical sectors, but it has been stopped in the last month. The Kasaragod district has been closed off the Kerala connecting road leading to Dakshina Kannada. This is a serious problem for many Kannada language minorities working in private companies in Mangalore. Many of them have lost their jobs.

Kasargod district is likely to increase covid if movement  from Kasargod district to Dakshina Kannada allowed. Every day more patients are found in Kasaragod district than Dakshina Kannada. Earlier, when the Karnataka government imposed an international traffic ban, the MPs of Kasaragod had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the Karnataka government.

Kannadigas are upset with the silence of the district MPs and the district legislators when the Kasargod district is closed.
