Nearly 15 Students killed in Lucknow coaching centre fire – students jumped from window

Lucknow: A massive fire broke out in a 3-storey commercial complex in Aliganj area of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh this afternoon. Moreover 15 lives died in this tragedy. This building housed a coaching centre and a gaming zone. The scenes of students jumping from the windows of the building to escape the fire and thick smoke are heart-wrenching. Fire brigade vehicles are trying to douse the fire. The fire has engulfed the entire building.

A fire broke out in a building on Usha Mehta Marg in Aliganj at around 3 pm today. As the fire spread rapidly, the students and staff at the coaching centre were trapped inside the building.

The students, who were suffocated by the thick smoke, jumped from the windows of the first floor fearing for their lives. Some of them were seriously injured in this incident. More than 14 fire engines and hydraulic platform vehicles were deployed to douse the fire.

The exact cause of the fire is not yet known. Locals have demanded that an investigation be conducted into the lapses in safety measures in the building.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed deep concern over the fire incident and has ordered officials to reach the spot immediately. The Chief Minister has instructed the officials to expedite the relief and rescue operations and ensure proper medical treatment to those injured in the incident. He has directed the administration to keep a close watch on the rescue efforts. The Chief Minister, who expressed concern over the incident, wished the injured a speedy recovery. He has asked the officials to provide all necessary medical assistance.
