Mangaluru: To support the ongoing social service initiatives of Snehalaya Charitable Trust, Mangaluru, the 54th Kevin Misquith Musical Concert was held successfully at the Town Hall on Sunday.
Founded in 2009, Snehalaya Charitable Trust has been working for the rescue, treatment, and rehabilitation of people with mental health issues. Over the last 17 years, the organization has helped more than 1,800 patients recover and reunite with their families. The trust also runs a de-addiction center that provides treatment for addictions related to alcohol, drugs, mobile phones, and behavioral disorders.
The concert, organized to raise funds for Snehalaya’s projects, infrastructure, medicines, and community welfare programs, witnessed a packed auditorium. More than 300 music lovers reportedly could not obtain tickets due to overwhelming demand.











Popular singer Kevin Misquith made a memorable return to the stage after seven years, enthralling the audience with evergreen hits such as Kenna Kenna and Thembhe Thembhe. His new songs carrying messages on social issues, self-reflection, and social harmony were also well received.
The orchestra was directed by Wedson, while Leslie Rego, Titus Noronha, Geo D’Silva, and Sheldon Crasta compered the program. More than 15 renowned singers participated in the event, entertaining the audience with songs and dance performances.
During the program, Brother Joseph was felicitated by Team Milestone Events and Productions. Snehalaya founder thanked donors and well-wishers for their continued support. Representing key sponsor Alphonse Lasrado, his sister Lizzy Lasrado was honoured. Kevin Misquith was also felicitated by Snehalaya with a memento in recognition of his contribution to the event.
The function was attended by several distinguished guests, including Joseph Menezes, Joyce Ozario, Vishwas Remimbas, and Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Akademy President Stany Alvares. The event concluded on a highly successful note, receiving an enthusiastic response from the audience.
