Puttur: Cadet Captain Diganth V. S. of St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur, has brought national recognition to the institution by securing two medals at the prestigious All India Nau Sainik Camp (AINSC) 2026, held at INS Shivaji, Lonavala, Maharashtra, from July 1 to 12.
Representing the Karnataka and Goa Directorate of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Diganth competed with the finest Naval Wing cadets in the country, in one of the most competitive national-level training camps of NCC. Demonstrating exceptional physical endurance, discipline and professional competence, he won the Silver Medal in the Cross-Country event and the Bronze Medal in the Service Subject Examinations.
His impressive performance is the result of sustained dedication, perseverance and rigorous training. The achievement also reflects the high standards of training imparted by the NCC Naval Wing of St Philomena College, which has consistently encouraged cadets to excel at the national level.
The cadet was guided and mentored by Sub Lieutenant Thejaswi Bhat, NCC Officer of the Naval Wing, whose training and support played a significant role in the success of the cadet.
