Patna: The king cobra or the black cobra is at the top of the list of dangerous snakes in the world. But despite being bitten by this poisonous snake 51 times, Bihar snake lady Janaki Devi has survived.


Surprisingly, this is true Janaki Devi, who is known as the “Snake Lady” of Bihar, was bitten by a king cobra during a snake rescue operation, and she escaped death after receiving timely treatment.
56-year-old Janaki Devi had come to rescue a king cobra that had entered a house in Bisaha village near Valmikinagar on the India-Nepal border in West Champaran district of Bihar on Wednesday evening.
During this time, the snake accidentally bit Janaki Devi and she was immediately admitted to Triveni Army Hospital in Nepal. Doctors treated her and said that her health is now stable.

According to the information given by Janaki Devi’s son Krishna Kumar, a king cobra entered the house of a resident of Hathi Malkhanta Tola near Bisaha village. Based on the information from the locals, Janaki Devi went to the place and safely caught the snake and rescued it.
After rescuing the snake, she took it to the 6th RD area and while posing for photographs with the king cobra wrapped around her neck, the snake suddenly bit her hand. She was immediately admitted to Triveni Hospital in Nawalparasi district of Nepal. The doctors who treated her said that her condition was out of danger.

The surprising thing is that even though poisonous snakes have bitten her more than 50 times so far, Janaki Devi has survived every time and is involved in snake rescue work again. It is said that if snakes enter the houses, Janaki Devi goes to the place without taking any money, catches them and releases them safely in the nearby forest.

Meanwhile, Valmikinagar Forest Zone Officer Satyam Kumar said, ‘It is common for snakes to enter villages during the rainy season and seasonal change. He appealed to the public not to try to catch snakes themselves. Instead, if they inform the Forest Department, trained personnel will safely conduct rescue operations.
