Hyderabad, Aug 4: Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad, a prestigious government medical institute in Telangana, has set another rare milestone in the medical field.



In the last three years, the hospital’s team of doctors has successfully completed 1,000 robotic surgeries, setting a new record.
The state-of-the-art robotic surgery department was launched for the first time at NIMS Hospital in August 2023. NIMS Director Rahul Devaraj said that this achievement was achieved by successfully performing the most complex surgeries with the help of robotic technology.
590 surgeries were performed in the Urology department, 248 surgeries in Surgical Gastroenterology, and 162 surgeries in the Surgical Oncology – Cancer department.
Telangana Health Minister Damodar Rajnarasimha has congratulated the team of doctors and staff at NIMS for successfully treating poor and middle class patients using this level of state-of-the-art robotic technology in a government hospital.
