Belagavi: The Maharashtra Anti-Narcotics Task Force has busted the Khatarnak gang, which was manufacturing drugs in a chicken farm. The operation was conducted on the outskirts of Hajagoli village in Chandagad taluk of Kolhapur district on the Belagavi-Maharashtra border, and 208 grams of drugs worth Rs 1 crore 13 lakh were seized. Chemicals and machinery used to manufacture drugs were also seized.
Seven arrested:
This raid was conducted based on a tip-off received during a drug operation in Mumbai, and a total of seven people, including two from Belagavi, were arrested. It is said that the task force personnel, who had come from Pune for three days, had been gathering information as usual. The raid also revealed that the gang was supplying drugs to various parts of the country including Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra from here.
Hajagoli, which is just 25 km away from Belgaum
Saleem Dola was arrested by the Delhi Police in Dubai and brought back. After that, the Mumbai police took the accused into custody and investigated, and it was found that a man named Santosh from Chandagad taluk was involved in the drug trade.
When he was arrested and questioned, he had revealed about the drug factory. Based on that information, an operation was conducted in Hajagoli, which is just 25 km away from Belgaum. This is the third biggest operation in Chandagad taluk, and the previous raid had exposed the supply of drugs in Bangalore.
