The accused in the murder case of Suhas Shetty, a Bajrang Dal activist from Mangalore, attacked and attempted to murder warder Manjunath. The incident, which took place at 11.30 am on September 2 in the Shiksha Bandhi section of Parappana Agrahara Jail, came to light late. With this, Parappana Agrahara Jail is in the news again.

Manjunath, a service observer, had gone to the Shiksha Bandhi section as a content manager regarding premature release. During this, Suhas murder accused Mohammad Muzamil, Abdul Shafghan, Mohammad Rizwan, Nayaz and Qalandar Shafi abused the warders with abusive words. In addition, the accused suddenly dragged Manjunath to room number 4 of the barrack and assaulted him at will, squeezing his neck tightly and attempting to suffocate him. It is said that the other officers and staff on duty who were alerted immediately rushed to Manjunath’s rescue.
A month ago, some prisoners were shifted to Annex-1 prison by the security department. During this time, Manjunath had checked the prisoners’ belongings. Also, he was not allowed to take any additional belongings. There was an argument between the accused in the prison over this issue. The accused attacked the warder because he was informing the authorities about illegal activities, and a complaint has been filed at the Parappana Agrahara police station in this regard.
