Bengaluru, Jan 29: Sandalwood actor Mayur Patel is in the news for an unwanted incident. An incident of driving a car while intoxicated and causing a series of accidents took place in Bengaluru last night.
A series of accidents took place in Bengaluru late at night due to reckless driving. Mayur Patel drove his Toyota Fortuner car at a high speed after being drunk. This caused him to hit parked cars. A case has been registered against Mayur Patel in this regard. There has been outrage against him.
Accident near Domlur
Eyewitnesses and police sources said that the series of accidents took place when Mayur Patel was driving on the road near Domlur late last night. His speedy Fortuner car lost control and hit several parked vehicles, including those of Srinivas and Abhishek. Another government vehicle was also badly damaged.
Shocked by the collision, residents and pedestrians immediately informed the police control room. The Hoysala patrol team also arrived at the spot and took the actor into custody. Later, a medical examination revealed that his blood alcohol level was above the legal limit.
FIR, no car insurance
The Halasuru traffic police have registered an FIR against Mayur Patel on the complaint of the vehicle’s victim Srinivas. He has been charged with reckless driving and drunk driving.
During the investigation, the police found another violation: the actor’s high-end SUV was not insured at the time of the accident. As a result, the authorities have impounded the vehicle.

A video of Mayur Patel getting out of his vehicle and talking to people has gone viral. He is seen saying, “No matter what the cost, I will fix everything.”
Mayur Patel, son of veteran actor Madan Patel, made his debut in Kannada cinema in 2000 with the film Andhra Hendthi. His 2003 film Mani earned him some critical acclaim, but subsequent films Gunna and Slum failed to make a mark at the box office. He did not find success in cinema after that.
