Islamabad, Sept 24: Border tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have escalated, with the Pakistan Air Force conducting precision airstrikes and drone attacks on 10 key Afghan bases early Thursday morning. Pakistan stated that this action was taken in retaliation for shelling and drone attacks launched from Afghanistan against its border outposts.
Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar officially confirmed the strikes, clarifying that the operation was carried out with extreme caution—exercising the “right to self-defense”—and targeted only the 10 military bases used for storing and launching the drones.
He asserted that threats or attempts by the Afghan Taliban government to evade responsibility cannot conceal the truth. Pakistan holds the absolute right to protect its sovereignty and its citizens. He warned that the use of Afghan soil to perpetrate terrorism against Pakistan would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
