Puttur, April 20: In a commendable sporting achievement, Prajwal M, a student of St. Philomena’s Autonomous College, has secured a place at the national level following an impressive performance at the state championship.


The event, the 3rd Karnataka State Arm Wrestling Championship 2025 – 26, was held on April 11 and 12 at Kudmul Ranga Rao Hall in Mangaluru. It was jointly organized under the aegis of the Karnataka Arm Wrestling Association in association with PAFI (People’s Armwrestling Federation India), the Asian Arm-Wrestling Federation, and the World Arm Wrestling Federation.
Representing Dakshina Kannada district, Prajwal M, a student from the college’s Arts stream, delivered an outstanding performance. He clinched first place in the left-arm arm wrestling category and also secured third place in the overall Arm -wrestling division, earning accolades and recognition.
Owing to this achievement, Prajwal has been selected to participate in the 4th PAFI National Arm-Wrestling Championship 2026, scheduled to be held from May 29 to June 2, 2026, at the National Raksha University, Lavad Campus, located in Dahegam, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
The Correspondent of the college Very Rev.Fr Lawrence Mascarenas, principal Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, faculty members, and students have expressed their pride and congratulated Prajwal on his success, wishing him the very best for the upcoming national championship.
