Mangalore, Feb 19: The saying that if the accused hides under the mat, the police will hide under the rangoli has been proven once again. The accused who had been hiding for 9 years without being caught by the police, who had not been caught in 31 cases, has finally been arrested by the Khakis.

Rowdy-sheeter Safwan Hussain (42) is the arrested accused, who had changed his name and fled abroad. Based on information that he had come from abroad during Ramzan, the Mangaluru CCB police, who conducted an operation in Andhra Pradesh, nabbed him.
Rowdysheeter Safwan Hussain, who was active in the Target gang, has a total of 31 cases registered against him in various police stations, including 2 murders, gang rape, attempt to murder, and robbery. He is also said to have been involved in assault on police officers, theft, and chain-stealing.
The accused, who had changed his name to Umar Mohammad Nasir in Andhra Pradesh after getting an Aadhaar under a fake name, had fled abroad in 2018. However, based on information that he had returned to the country due to the festival, a team of Mangaluru CCB police, led by ACP Manoj Kumar, conducted an operation in the Rai Chote area of Andhra Pradesh and succeeded in arresting Safwan Hussain.
