Mumbai: Veteran actor Madhu Malhotra, who was known for acting in the films Satte Pe Satta and Karj, has passed away after a heart attack.
Her son Manu informed about this, ‘Madhu Malhotra passed away on Friday at the age of 71. Amma passed away on March 13 at 12.30 pm at Holy Spirit Hospital in Andheri.
She had heart-related problems. There were blockages in the heart. She died of a heart attack,” he said.
Madhu Malhotra was a famous actress who appeared in several films from the 1970s to the 1990s.
Her popular films include Kaala Pattar, Vidhaata, Sambandh and Ghulam. She gained attention for her appearance in the song Lambi Judai from Subhash Ghai’s Hero.
Her son Manu fondly remembered his mother as a “happy-go-lucky, family-oriented” person.
“She was a family person; she nurtured the children and that’s why she did so many films. She loved films, acting and she gave her best,” he said.
Malhotra has three children, two daughters and a son. The cremation took place at the Oshiwara crematorium.
