Botar village, located inside the Indravati National Park in Narayanpur district, has long been considered a challenging area due to its difficult geographical conditions and sensitivity. On March 27, security forces received information about the critical condition of a pregnant woman from this village, after which an immediate rescue operation was launched.

The rescue operation was led by Anil Kumar, Assistant Commandant of the 29th Battalion of ITBP. On his directions, a Quick Response Team was sent to the spot. An ambulance was then kept ready to transport the woman to the company operating base in Orchha.

The road was a challenge for the rescue operation

The operation was a big challenge for the soldiers as the steep mountain path, dense forests and the absence of any road facilities made the route even more difficult. The ITBP soldiers then constructed a makeshift stretcher on the spot and carried the pregnant woman on foot for a distance of about five kilometers. The route was fraught with many natural obstacles, including rough paths, steep slopes and uphill paths.

The rescue team safely transported the pregnant woman to a designated place between Boatar and Kudmel, where it was already prepared. She was then immediately taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Orchha. After timely treatment under the supervision of doctors, the woman delivered the baby and both are safe.

The operation was a success due to excellent coordination and prompt decision-making by the ITBP and Narayanpur Police. The rescue operation carried out amidst the dense forests of Indravati is not just a story of saving lives, it also highlighted the humanitarian face of the security forces.
