Bengaluru, April 17: Keeping a close eye on the drug trafficking network, the city police have arrested a total of ten drug peddlers, including three foreign nationals and five from out of state, and seized narcotics worth Rs 23.63 crore.


The arrested accused are foreign nationals Peace Godia (27), Bakula Omatayo (29), Okeke Chimesi Vimar (28), Tamil Nadu native Rajan (33), Saravanan (38), Chinto Swain (24), Deepak Kumar Singh (27), Shankar Sahu (26), locals Syed Sajjad (50) and Rajendra (27).
Based on information that drugs were being sold in the Yelahanka Sub-city, Devara Jeevanhalli, Koramangala, Bomanahalli and Pulakeshi Nagar police stations, cases were registered and raids were carried out at the police stations. In that case, a total of ten people, including two foreign women, one man, five out-of-state and two local people, were arrested.
It has been revealed from the interrogation of the accused that with the intention of earning more money, they were buying cocaine, ganja and ecstasy pills at low prices from foreign origin, out-of-state and two local people and selling them to the general public and college students.
Yelahanka New Town police station seized 5 kg 860 grams of MDMA worth Rs 11.72 crore, Devara Jeevan Halli seized 1 kg 145 grams of cocaine worth Rs 11.44 crore, a two-wheeler, Banaswadi seized 46 grams of MDMA worth Rs 23.56 lakh, 19 grams of ecstasy pills, 6.6 grams of cocaine, Koramangala seized 16 kg 315 grams of ganja worth Rs 16.30 lakh, Bomanahalli seized 3 kg 906 grams of ganja, 13 grams of MDMA worth Rs 6.60 lakh, Pulakeshinagar police station seized 778 grams of ganja worth Rs 80 thousand.
City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh explained at a press conference that the investigation is ongoing and that efforts are underway to identify drug peddlers from abroad and out of state who were supplying narcotics to these accused.
