Congress leader Sonia Gandhi admitted to hospital again

Delhi, May 13: Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has been admitted to a private hospital in Gurugram for a minor surgery. More details about the nature of the surgery are yet to be revealed.

The 79-year-old Rajya Sabha MP, Sonia Gandhi, has faced several health problems in recent years and has been treated at various hospitals, including in Delhi.

She was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi when she fell ill in March. Earlier, she was admitted to the hospital in January due to breathing problems. Doctors said that the cause was bronchial asthma caused by Delhi’s winter conditions and increased pollution.

Last year, Sonia Gandhi was admitted to the hospital at least three times, including in Shimla and Delhi, for stomach-related problems and regular health check-ups.

Sonia Gandhi, who came to the Rajya Sabha after being a five-time MP in the Lok Sabha, has been one of the most influential leaders of the Congress party for more than two decades. She served two terms as Congress President and continues to play a key role in the party’s organization and political affairs.
