Hyderabad, June 08: A young IPS officer, who conducted a cinematic-style operation to stop illegal activities in pubs, has exposed immoral activities and sex racket in a popular pub in Kukatpally area of Hyderabad under Cyberabad limits.
A 2018 batch Telangana cadre IPS officer, Kukatpally DCP Rithi Raj, had conducted a secret operation before conducting a surprise raid on Kings and Queens pub, popularly known as Club Masti, late on Sunday night. She went to the pub as an ordinary woman and gathered information about the secret activities. Later, the police conducted a surprise raid and arrested 9 people.
Sources said that the operation was launched after the police received reliable intelligence information about suspicious activities taking place inside the pub.
According to the police, the pub was involved in prostitution and was facilitating prostitution. During the raid, investigators found that the management had failed to implement safety measures to prevent minors from entering the premises where liquor was sold.
The pub is operating beyond the permitted hours. It is alleged that it is serving food and liquor in violation of rules and is operating without a valid police no-objection certificate (NOC).
Young women are being used to attract young men to the pub. There were also allegations that more money is being collected through this. DCP Riti Raj had conducted an undercover operation against this. He had collected information about immoral activities in the pub. Later, the police said that they raided it with a police team.
The investigators suspect that the management is facilitating immoral activities and buying women for customers.
During the operation, nine personnel, including four women and five men, were detained and taken to the KPHB Police Station for further legal action.
