Mangaluru: Students of St Aloysius Gonzaga School, Mangaluru, brought laurels to the school with their impressive performances in athletics, yogasana and swimming at various district-level competitions.
At the DK Masters Athletics Meet held at Mangala Stadium, Mangaluru, on September 20, 2026, Vihaan of Class VII clinched the gold medal in the 60m race.
In yogasana, Shaurya won a silver medal and a bronze medal at the CM Dasara Cup District-Level Yogasana Competition. Following his commendable performance, he has been selected to compete at the Division-Level competition.
Shashank D. S. of Class IX won three silver medals at the Dasara District-Level Open Swimming Competition 2026 and has been selected for the Division-Level Swimming Competition to be held in Hassan on September 26, 2026.
Neel M. G. of Class X B secured a silver medal in the 50m breaststroke and a bronze medal in the 100m breaststroke in the Open Age Group category. He too has been selected for the Division-Level Swimming Competition at Hassan.
The school management, Principal Rev. Fr Rohan D’Almeida SJ, Vice-Principals Laurel D’Souza and Aparna Suresh, staff and students congratulated the young athletes and swimmers on their outstanding performances. They appreciated their dedication, discipline and sporting spirit and wished them continued success at the upcoming division-level competitions.
