Haridwar: A total of six Muslims—including five members of a single family—have embraced Hinduism amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras and after taking a holy dip in the sacred Ganges river.

The group, comprising five members of a Muslim family from the Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh and one individual from Saharanpur, adopted Sanatana Dharma.
They assumed new names and identities following religious rituals performed at Chandi Ghat in Haridwar.
New Names, New Identities:
Mahid and his wife Sabina Bibi from Pilibhit district have now adopted the names Mohit and Khushi, respectively. Mohit stated that they made this decision of their own free will.
“We took this decision voluntarily. We developed a sense of respect, compassion, and peace towards Sanatana Dharma. Following the conversion, the children’s names were also changed; the two sons have been named Roshan and Rohan, and the daughter has been named Ananya,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim from Saharanpur has adopted the name Virat Pundir. Holy Dip in the Ganges and Chanting of Vedic Mantras:
A religious ceremony regarding religious conversion took place at Chandi Ghat in Haridwar. Six individuals took a holy dip in the Ganges River and subsequently participated in various Hindu religious rituals, including Ganga Puja and Havan (sacred fire ritual), amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras.
The event was organized under the guidance of Sant Ram Vishal Das Maharaj, the head of the Tirtha Seva Nyas organization.
Speaking on the occasion, Sant Ram Vishal Das said, “The Ghar Wapsi (homecoming) that took place today involves a family from Pilibhit. Mahid, his wife Sabina, and their three children have renounced Islam and embraced Sanatana Dharma today.”
They bathed in the Ganges and performed Achaman (ritual purification with water) at Chandi Ghat, located on the banks of the holy river. They then returned to Sanatana Dharma amidst full Vedic rituals and the chanting of mantras.
“Our objective is to create awareness in society about religion, values, and service. The Sanatana tradition places great importance on the Ganges, Yajna (sacred fire rituals), religious rites, and family values,” he stated.
Many adhus and Sants (sages and seers) participated in the event, welcoming and honoring those who embraced the faith.
