Indian tourists caught stealing items from Bali hotel

Bali, April 24: When leaving any hotel room, most of us take things like soap, toothbrushes, and tea and coffee bags that we use in the washrooms. But, if you take anything other than these, it is theft. An incident that took place in Bali is now going viral online. In this video, a group of Indian tourists are caught by the hotel staff carrying several items in their luggage while leaving the hotel.

The Indian tourists were caught taking robes, towels and other items from a Bali hotel.

The incident took place at the Aswara Resort Ubud. Four Indian tourists who had checked in on April 16 noticed several items missing from the hotel rooms before checking out.

During a routine check, hotel staff reportedly found items packed inside guests’ luggage. These included bath and pool towels, kimono robes, a hairdryer, a doormat, a TV remote box and dinnerware. When the staff searched, the items that were missing from the room were found in the tourists’ bags.

Despite the serious situation, the case was resolved amicably. The tourists returned all the items and the hotel decided not to charge them. Eventually, the guests were allowed to check out and leave, local police confirmed.

The video has gone viral on social media. Many users have reacted to it, calling the incident ’embarrassing’ and ‘damaging to India’s image abroad’, with one commenting. Another user said, ‘They can afford to travel abroad. But can’t they afford to buy spoons and towels?’ ‘It’s so embarrassing to watch this,’ one wrote.
