Tel Aviv, Oct 27: Two days before the Israeli elections, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shared an AI-generated image on social media depicting a nuclear explosion over Tel Aviv. He stated that Israel must utilize the remaining two years of U.S. President Donald Trump’s term to address the “existential threat” posed by Iran.

The image in Netanyahu’s post shows a bomb detonating over the densely populated city, engulfing several buildings. Along with the image, Netanyahu shared a statement by Israeli writer and political commentator Yuval Blumberg.
“The State of Israel faces a real and clear existential danger. If the Iranians acquire nuclear weapons, nothing will ever be the same again. Everything else pales in comparison to the existential threat posed by Iran and the Shia [regime]. Completing the task regarding Iran directly impacts the physical existence of every single person here,” the post read.
“Trump has two years left to finish the job in Iran, and there is no telling what might happen after that—whether it be Kamala Harris or some other mediocre figure.” “This is the time remaining for us to complete the work necessary to ensure our physical existence. All the state’s required resources must be invested in this operation,” Netanyahu added in the post.
Netanyahu’s post soon drew sharp criticism from his opponents. Responding to the post, Democrat leader Yair Golan alleged that Netanyahu is losing control as election day approaches.
“Another fear-mongering video from Netanyahu. You have become unhinged.” Gadi Eisenkot, leader of the ‘Yashar’ party, wrote in a post, “Just like in every election campaign, lies and fear-mongering tactics are being used this time as well.”
