California: A horrific plane crash has occurred at Edwards Air Force Base in California’s Mojave Desert. The US Air Force’s famous ‘B-52 Stratofortress’ bomber crashed moments after taking off from the runway, killing all eight people on board.

The plane was completely destroyed after a massive fire broke out immediately after the crash. Officials have confirmed that eight people on board, including military personnel and government contractors, have died.
The crashed plane was participating in a military modernization test flight to replace the old radar system with a state-of-the-art ‘AESA’ radar system. The Air Force’s deputy commander said it could take about six months to determine the exact cause of the crash.
This long-range fighter jet, built by Boeing, entered service with the US Army in 1955. It can carry both conventional and nuclear weapons.
This massive aircraft, powered by eight jet engines, can carry up to 32 tons of weapons at a time and fly more than 14,000 kilometers without refueling. It is capable of reaching speeds of about 1,000 km per hour.
