Mangaluru: Marking a significant milestone in its journey of customer service and growth, the Morgansgate Branch of MCC Bank Ltd. was shifted to its new and modern premises located on the Ground Floor of H.H. Diamond City Building, Marnamikatte Road, Mangaluru – 575001, on Saturday, July 25, 2026. The occasion also commemorated the completion of 31 remarkable years of the branch’s dedicated service to customers.





















The programme was presided over by Sahakara Ratna Shri Anil Lobo, Chairman, MCC Bank.The newly relocated branch premises was blessed by Rev. Fr Rithesh Rodrigues, Parish Priest of St Rita Church, Cascia. The safe deposit locker was inaugurated by James Victor D’Mello, Former Director of MCC Bank and Former Corporator of Mangaluru City Corporation, Francis Fernandes Cascia, philanthropist, playwright, director and actor, and Krishna Bindumane, Proprietor of Health Mart, Mangaluru, who attended as Guests of Honour.
In his presidential address, Chairman Anil Lobo expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the dignitaries, directors, management, staff, customers and well-wishers for their unwavering support and confidence in MCC Bank. Describing MCC Bank as a true “Bank of the People,” he said the institution, established even before India’s Independence, has built a rich legacy of trust and service over the decades. He called upon customers and members of the public to actively support the bank and contribute towards making it a benchmark institution in the cooperative banking sector.
The Chairman explained that MCC Bank functions under the dual regulatory framework of the Reserve Bank of India and the Government of Karnataka and assured customers that their deposits are protected under the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC) insurance scheme. Speaking on leadership, he observed that true leadership in today’s competitive world is defined not by physical strength but by a strong mindset, vision and a compassionate heart. He recalled that for the past four years the bank has been honouring its Founder Chairman, P.F.X. Saldanha, whose vision and values continue to inspire the management in providing customer-centric banking services.
Highlighting the bank’s remarkable achievements over the past eight years, Lobo said MCC Bank has witnessed unprecedented growth across Karnataka while maintaining strict monitoring of key banking parameters such as Non-Performing Assets (NPA), Loans and Advances, CASA, Deposits, Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR), Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) and Credit-Deposit (CD) Ratio. He proudly stated that among the 262 Urban Cooperative Banks in Karnataka, MCC Bank is the only cooperative bank offering specialized NRI banking services, with NRE deposits crossing the ₹100 crore mark.
He further stated that the bank’s employees are continuously trained to provide prompt, efficient and customer-friendly services, adding that customer satisfaction remains the bank’s foremost priority. Announcing the bank’s future expansion plans, the Chairman said MCC Bank would inaugurate its 23rd branch at Katpadi on August 2, 2026, with a target of expanding its network to 25 branches before the end of the current financial year. He also announced that the bank is planning to introduce UPI services by December 2026, enabling customers to enjoy faster and more convenient digital banking facilities. Appealing to customers to become ambassadors of the bank, he urged them to encourage their friends and relatives to transact with MCC Bank and assured everyone that he would always remain accessible to hear customer grievances and suggestions for improving banking services.
Addressing the gathering, Rev. Fr Rithesh Rodrigues congratulated the Chairman, Board of Directors, management, staff and customers on the successful relocation of the branch. Emphasising the values of unity, harmony among all religions and collective prosperity, he remarked that as a customer himself, he had personally witnessed the bank’s remarkable progress during the last few years. He wished the institution continued success and God’s abundant blessings in all its future endeavours.
Guest of Honour Shri James Victor D’Mello congratulated the Chairman, management and Board of Directors for their visionary leadership and outstanding achievements. Reflecting on the bank’s history since its establishment in 1912, he observed that while growth had been gradual during its first 106 years, the period since 2018 has witnessed extraordinary transformation. He noted that within just eight years, the bank has expanded by opening six new branches and increasing its business turnover from ₹500 crore to ₹1,565 crore, describing it as an exceptional achievement in the cooperative banking sector.
D’Mello remarked that the turning point came with the emergence of young and dynamic leadership under Anil Lobo. He credited the Chairman’s determination, discipline and vision, supported by the Board of Directors, management, staff and loyal customers, for ushering MCC Bank into what he described as its “Golden Era.” He further appreciated the bank for recognising academic excellence and social service, stating that MCC Bank has gone beyond being merely a profit-oriented institution by contributing meaningfully to society through charitable activities, educational encouragement, donations and sponsorships.
Speaking on the occasion, Francis Fernandes Cascia thanked the customers and well-wishers for their overwhelming participation in the branch shifting ceremony. Congratulating the Chairman, Board of Directors, management and staff, he highlighted that customer confidence and strong community support have been the real driving force behind the bank’s impressive growth and wished the institution greater success in the years ahead.
Sharing his experience as a long-standing customer, Krishna Bindumane expressed his happiness at being invited as a Guest of Honour. He appreciated the respect, encouragement and customer-friendly service extended by the bank over the years and congratulated the Chairman, management and staff on achieving another significant milestone in the bank’s journey.
As part of the celebrations, academic achievers Kum. Karen D’Cruzand Kum. Kinara D’Cruz were felicitated for their outstanding educational accomplishments. Former Morgansgate Branch Manager Jacintha Serrao was specially honoured on the occasion of her birthday in recognition of her dedicated service to the bank. Social achievers James Victor D’Mello and Shri Francis Fernandes Cascia were also felicitated for their valuable contributions to society. The Chairman presented mementoes to the distinguished guests as a token of appreciation.
The programme commenced with a devotional prayer song rendered by the bank staff, followed by the screening of a documentary showcasing the history, achievements and future vision of MCC Bank.
Directors David D’Souza, Melwyn Vas, Anil Patrao, Roshan D’Souza and Irene Rebello, Felix D’Cruz, Professional Director C.G. Pinto, General Manager Sunil Menezes, officers and staff of the bank, along with a large number of customers and well-wishers, were present on the occasion.
