Mangaluru: A Centre for Social Concern (CSC) was inaugurated at St. Aloysius Pre-University College with the objective of fostering social responsibility, empathy, leadership, and community engagement among students.
The programme was inaugurated by Padma Shri and Rajyotsava Award recipient Harekala Hajabba, who attended as the resource person. Addressing the students, he urged them to value the opportunities available to them and pursue their goals with determination and dedication.



Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of the college, Rev. Fr. Clifford Sequeira, SJ, said that true achievement lies in contributing to the welfare and progress of the community. He emphasized that students should imbibe the values of unity, cooperation, and compassion and work together to build an inclusive and socially responsible society.
During the programme, the new logo of the Centre for Social Concern was unveiled. The chief guest was also felicitated on the occasion. Snehal Peris, Coordinator of the Centre for Social Concern, read the citation.
Among those present were Rev. Fr. Anthony Derrick, SJ, Campus Minister of the college; Deans Kiran Shetty and Inas D’Souza; and Reeva Pinto, Student President of the Centre for Social Concern.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Tanmay Gatti, Student Secretary of the Centre for Social Concern. Janet Pinto, Head of the Language Department, welcomed the gathering and compered the programme.
