St Philomena College Felicitates Students Selected for Indian Army under Agniveer Scheme

Puttur: The NCC Unit of St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur, organised a felicitation ceremony on Tuesday to honour four students who have been selected for service in the Indian Army under the Agniveer Scheme.

The students felicitated were NCC cadets Vijith M., a second-year B.A. student, Bhavith, a second-year BCA student, M.S. Sonal, a second-year BCA student, and Prapanch, also a second-year BCA student. The programme was held in recognition of their achievement and commitment to serving the nation.

Speaking on the occasion, the Correspondent of the college, Very Rev. Dr J.B. Saldanha, congratulated the students on their success and described their selection as a matter of pride for the institution. He commended their dedication, courage, and determination, and expressed confidence that they would continue to excel and attain greater positions in their careers.

Principal Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro also felicitated the achievers and noted that their accomplishment would serve as an inspiration to other students. He observed that the selection of the students to the Indian Army reflected the values of discipline, perseverance, and patriotism fostered by the institution and the NCC.

Among those present were Vice-Principal Dr Vijayakumar M., Registrar (Academics) Dr Norbert Mascarenhas, Registrar (Evaluation) Dr Vinaychandra, Finance Officer Dr Edwin D’Souza, and Office Superintendent Mrs. Rufina D’Souza. The programme is organised by NCC Officer Captain Johnson David Sequeira.

The programme concluded with the college community extending its best wishes to the selected students for a successful and distinguished career in the service of the nation.
