India’s new history in the defense sector – Brahmos, Akash missiles to be exported to UAE

Delhi: India has now transformed from the world’s largest arms importer to a major exporter. In line with this development, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expressed interest in purchasing India’s state-of-the-art Brahmos supersonic cruise missile and Akash-Tir air defense systems.

Talks have begun between the two countries in this regard. If the deal is finalized, it will be the first instance of India exporting its defense products to the Middle Eastern Gulf country. Countries like the Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia have already signed agreements to purchase Brahmos and other defense technologies.

Brahmos is the world’s fastest supersonic cruise missile and can be launched from land, sea and air bases.

Akash-Tir is a fully automated air defense control system. The UAE is buying weapons to strengthen its security in the context of a US-Iran war. The increase in domestic defense production under the Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign has significantly increased India’s export potential.
