Jaipur: At least eight people were killed and more than 24 were injured in a horrific road accident that occurred in Rajasthan’s Dausa district early this morning.
The tragedy occurred when both vehicles caught fire after a passenger bus collided with a truck on the Delhi-Mumbai Express way.
The accident took place near Dhanwada under Kolwa police station limits in Dausa district.
A private passenger bus, which was going from Rishikesh in Uttarakhand to Indore in Madhya Pradesh, collided with a truck moving in front of it from behind on the expressway.
The force of the collision caused the bus and the truck to catch fire in an instant, and the flames completely engulfed both vehicles. This caused great panic among the passengers inside the bus, and many jumped out to save their lives.
Dausa District Superintendent of Police Piyush Dixit said that five people were burnt alive on the spot after being caught in the fire, while three others died from serious injuries. He said that the work of identifying the deceased is underway.
