New Delhi, July 14: As a result of the conflict between Iran (Iran War) and the United States, a situation has arisen in which ships of other countries cannot pass through the Strait of Hormuz. An Indian sailor was killed and two others were seriously injured in an attack by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz yesterday.

In this context, India has expressed strong anger against Iran and demanded that it immediately stop attacking ships. Similarly, India has also summoned the Iranian ambassador. Despite having good relations with Iran, Iran had attacked two Indian ships.
Through this, India has strongly condemned the attack on two Indian commercial ships, ‘MV Al Bahiyah’ (MT Al Bahiyah) and ‘MV Mombasa’ (MT Mombasa) in the Strait of Hormuz. Expressing dissatisfaction with this as a violent act targeting sailors, India has sent a strong message that such attacks that hinder free movement in international waterways should stop immediately.
India suggests dialogue:
Instead of attacking ships like this, the Ministry of External Affairs has urged all parties to immediately cease hostilities and return to the path of dialogue and diplomacy to restore peace, stability and security in West Asia. It has emphasized that attacks on commercial ships and civilian infrastructure must stop for free maritime trade and navigation to continue as per international law.
India summons Iranian diplomats:
An Indian crew member was killed and several others were injured in an Iranian missile attack on two UAE-owned oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. New Delhi has reacted strongly to this incident. This morning, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) summoned Iranian diplomats, including Deputy Chief of Mission of the Iranian Embassy in New Delhi, Mohammad Javad Hosseini. “The Deputy High Commissioner of Iran has been summoned to record India’s strong protest against these heinous attacks,” the ministry said in a statement.
What are the casualties among Indian personnel?:
One of the 12 Indian crew members on board MV Al Bahia was killed and another was injured. Nine of the 18 Indian nationals on board MV Mombasa were injured, two of whom are in critical condition. The Ministry of External Affairs expressed its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased sailor and wished the injured a speedy recovery. The Indian Embassy in the UAE is continuously working to ensure that all necessary assistance and support is provided to the affected Indian crew. The Indian Mission, which is in constant touch with the local authorities there, is closely monitoring the situation.
Iran defends attack:
Iran has admitted that it attacked the two UAE-flagged commercial vessels. Iran has defended its action, saying, “These vessels ignored our navigational warnings and were engaged in illegal activities in the strait, so we attacked them.”
UAE condemnation:
However, the UAE Ministry of Defense has strongly condemned Iran’s attack. The UAE said that this is a clear violation of international law and threatens regional security and stability. Iran’s retaliatory action, which comes after the recent US attack on Iran, has further increased the fear of war in the Gulf region.
The Strait of Hormuz is a globally important waterway, with one-fifth (20 percent) of the world’s total oil supply passing through it. Even a minor disruption in this waterway has the potential to have a major impact on global energy supplies, commercial shipping, and international trade. That is why such attacks on commercial ships are a matter of grave concern to the entire world.
