Amritsar, July 27: A petrol bomb attack took place late last night at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Punjab’s Sangrur.



This unexpected incident has caused extreme anxiety and anger in the political circles and among the locals. As soon as the information about the attack was received, the Sangrur police immediately rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation.
Although no major damage was reported at the spot after the attack, it is considered a serious incident from a security point of view. The police have conducted an extensive inspection at the spot and are engaged in the work of collecting preliminary information.
The police have collected the footage of the CCTV cameras installed around the area where the incident took place. By examining these scenes thoroughly, efforts are being made to identify the miscreants who carried out the attack and ascertain their motive.
Police said that it will be clear only after examining the CCTV footage who committed the act and for what reason this type of petrol bomb attack was carried out. Currently, tight security arrangements have been made in and around the Sangrur BJP office premises.
Necessary steps have been taken to maintain law and order. The investigation into this case is in progress and the police are confident of arresting the accused soon and taking legal action.
