Moodubidire: The inaugural ceremony of the 16th edition of Alva’s Pragati–2026, the country’s largest free job fair organized by Alva’s Education Foundation (R.), will be held on August 7 at 9:30 a.m. at the Dr. V.S. Acharya Auditorium, Vidyagiri, said Dr. M. Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation, during a press conference.
The event will be inaugurated by Karnataka Minister for Health and Family Welfare U.T. Khader. Captain Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament from the Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency, will attend as the chief guest. The function will be presided over by Umanath Kotian, MLA of the Mulki–Moodubidire Assembly constituency. Dr. M. Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation, will also be present. All elected representatives from the undivided Dakshina Kannada district will participate as guests of honour.
As a tribute to the late A.K. Mahesh Shekhar, who played a significant role in the planning, organization, and successful execution of the Alva’s Job Fair in its early years, this year’s Alva’s Pragati inaugural stage has been dedicated to his memory. Through this gesture, Alva’s Education Foundation expresses its gratitude for his dedication, commitment, and invaluable contribution to the growth of the job fair.
Felicitation of Coastal Achievers
On the occasion, five distinguished personalities from the coastal region, who have made remarkable contributions in entrepreneurship, employment generation, and social service, will be honoured. The awardees are:
