Gurukiran’s Career
One of Sandalwood’s trend-setting music directors, Gurukiran made his debut as an independent music director in the late 90s with the film ‘A’. He created a new sensation in the Kannada film industry with his distinctive and energetic tunes for a string of hit films including ‘Upendra’, ‘Aaptamitra’, ‘Appu’, ‘Jogi’. Along with music direction, he has also won the hearts of Kannadigas as a singer and actor, and has won several State Government Awards and Filmfare Awards. His mother was the driving force behind his success.
