Bengaluru: The operations conducted by the Food Safety and Quality Department officials in the capital Bengaluru for the past three days have exposed the capital of luxury hotels. Raids were conducted simultaneously in many places in the city under the leadership of Food Safety Department Commissioner Srinivas.
When the team raided the Sky Hotel in UB City (Raids on UB City hotels), rotten meat and food items with worms were found. Boosted meat was seized in the prestigious hotel.
In the operation led by the Food Department Commissioner, more than ten Food Safety and Quality Department officials raided in teams. The kitchens and food storage areas of prestigious hotels including the UB City Sky Hotel and its surroundings were inspected.
During the inspection of the officials, various food items including rotten meat were found in some hotels. The authorities have come to the notice of the storage of expired food and food items without proper labels in some places. About 51 kg of food items were seized during the raid. This includes various food items including meat, fish and vegetables.

The authorities have also inspected the kitchen of the Sky Lounge Hotel in UB City. The authorities have sealed and locked the kitchen due to unhygienic conditions in the kitchen and the discovery of 45 kg of rotten meat (chicken and beef). During the inspection of the authorities, it was found that some food items including meat and beef were found to be rotten and fungus-like. In addition, milk and curd that were about 10 days past their expiry date were also found.
