Mumbai, Sept. 24: More than 1,000 students from across India converged in the capital this week for the Indian Model United Nations, one of the country’s largest youth forums. After two days of rigorous deliberations at the SCOPE Complex, the conference culminated in the Ryan Leadership Summit at the Siri Fort Auditorium.
The annual gathering, now in its 23rd year, challenged students to “shape the future of India” by stepping into the roles of world leaders and grappling with questions of global conflict, cooperation and progress.
The closing summit drew added weight with key note addresses from three foreign ambassadors representing the European Union, Denmark and Iceland who gave students a global perspective on leadership, unity and cooperation. Their presence underscored the growing role of India’s youth in international dialogue.
India’s Lok Sabha Speaker, Shri Om Birla, extended greetings to the conference, praising it for inspiring students to “envision a more peaceful, prosperous and self-reliant India.”
Dr Grace Pinto, Managing Director of the Ryan International Group of Institutions, said, ‘we are grateful to our Lord Jesus Christ for enabling us to host events and forums like INMUN which are crucial for schools: they give students “the skills of dialogue, consensus and responsibility,” and nurture confidence and leadership qualities beyond the classroom.’
