Shamli (Uttar Pradesh): 32-year-old Ankit Balyan, a popular Haryanvi singer and YouTuber, was shot dead by miscreants outside a gym in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district. The incident took place on Wednesday evening and has created panic in the entire area.
How did the incident happen?:
This horrific incident took place near Aryapuri Nalapatri under the Shamli Nagar Kotwali area of Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district. Popular Haryanvi singer and YouTuber Ankit Baliyan, 32, was attacked by four assailants on a bike while he was walking towards his Scorpio car after a workout at a gym under the jurisdiction of the City Kotwali police station in Shamli at around 7 pm.
About 18-20 rounds of firing:
The assailants fired about 18 to 20 rounds at Ankit at point blank range. Accordingly, he died on the spot due to severe bleeding. Meanwhile, according to initial reports, Delhi’s notorious Gogi gang has claimed responsibility for the murder on social media.
The gang members are said to have posted that the murder was committed because Ankit was associated with their rival gang and had composed a song against them. Ironically, just 2 hours before the murder, Ankit Balyan had shared a video on Instagram. In it, he used a gun culture song he had sung himself, “Bhari Court Mein Goli Marenge Meri Jaan” (We will shoot in a full court).
On the other hand, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has strongly condemned the incident, expressing his anger that there is zero law and order in Uttar Pradesh. He has also demanded an investigation into the dimension of political hatred. Meanwhile, Ankit’s family and supporters, outraged by the murder, have blocked the Delhi-Muzaffarnagar road and staged a protest demanding the immediate arrest of the killers.
