Mangaluru: The Vision Group of Science and Technology (VGST), Government of Karnataka recognized the Departments of Postgraduate Studies and Research in Biochemistry & Botany, School of Life Sciences, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University and awarded the prestigious VGST K-FIST Level-I grant of Rs. 20,00,000/- for the proposal titled “Establishment of an Institutional Facility for Nano-Bio-Environmental Research and Training (NBERT-AN): Biotechnological valorization of Arecanut Waste for Safe Nano-Nutraceuticals” submitted by Dr Remya Varadarajan, Assistant Professor of the Department of Biochemistry, who is also the Principal Investigator and Dr Sana Sheikh, Department of Botany as the Co-Investigator.
The grant amount will be utilized to develop research facilities in the university for the next two years.
