Balochistan, Sep 30: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), a separatist organization in Balochistan, has released a video of the first attack carried out by its new women’s armed unit, the Karima Armed Attack Division (KAAD).
The video shows female fighters opening fire on a Pakistani army convoy. The organization claims that nine Pakistani army soldiers were killed in the attack.
The operation took place on September 22 along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) highway in the Turbat region of Balochistan. The target was a ‘Quick Response Force’ convoy consisting of three vehicles, including an armored vehicle.
The released video shows a female commander briefing her colleagues on the operation prior to the attack. Subsequently, the armed fighters fired upon the Pakistani army vehicles from very close range; the video indicates that the attack was launched from a distance of just a few steps away. BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch stated that several Pakistani army vehicles were severely damaged in the attack.
The organization’s ‘Kurban’ unit provided support to the women’s unit. Pakistani security forces attempted to surround the fighters, but the Kurban unit engaged them in combat, enabling the female fighters to retreat safely.
In another part of the video, members of the KAAD can be seen conducting surprise vehicle checks in the Mangchar area of Kalat.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Balochistan, the Baloch Republican Army (BRA) launched an attack using rockets and heavy weaponry on a site in the Beh Loti area of Dera Bugti. BRA spokesperson Sarbaz Baloch stated that three company employees were killed and several others injured in the attack.
