Mumbai, Oct 2: Bollywood actress Nushrat Bharucha has suffered a spinal fracture in an accident in Bali and is being brought to Mumbai for further treatment. The incident occurred during the filming of Tiger Shroff’s upcoming movie. She has sustained injuries during shoots on several occasions in the past as well.
Sanchita Trivedi, the film’s publicist, stated that doctors would perform spinal surgery following further examinations. Arrangements are underway to airlift her from Bali to Mumbai for treatment; the surgery will be performed after her arrival in Mumbai.
Acting in Tiger Shroff’s Film
Nushrat is starring in Tiger Shroff’s upcoming film, and the incident took place during the shoot for this project. The team was looking for an actress who could bring strength and emotional depth to the story; hence, Nushrratt was chosen. Pashmina Roshan, Abhishek Banerjee, and Elvish Yadav also play pivotal roles in the film. However, Nushrratt sustained an injury during the shoot. According to the team, she needs to rest and recover following the injury and subsequent surgery, which may impact her work commitments in the coming weeks. The team has requested everyone to respect her privacy and allow her to focus on her treatment.
Previous Incidents
Nushrratt Bharuccha had sustained injuries twice during shoots in 2023. In April 2023, she met with an accident while filming the movie *Akelli*. During a scene requiring her to run, she fell headfirst onto a marble floor. Following the accident, she was in tears due to the pain for about half an hour; after an examination, doctors advised her to rest for a few days. Earlier, in January 2023, she injured her face while performing an action sequence for the film *Chhorii 2*. The injury was severe enough to require stitches on her face and eyebrow. A video showing her getting the stitches… …it came to light.
Health Deteriorated
Prior to this, in August 2021, Nushrratt’s health deteriorated during a film shoot. She was filming for a movie directed by Luv Ranjan. She was exhausted from working continuously for about 23–24 days. On the day of the incident, she experienced severe dizziness and was unable to stand or speak properly. She was subsequently taken to Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai, where her blood pressure dropped to 65/55. Doctors diagnosed the condition as severe vertigo caused by excessive stress and fatigue. After receiving treatment, she was discharged. Doctors advised her to rest for 15 days, which resulted in the suspension of the film’s shooting.
Controversy Over Temple Visit
Last year, Nushrratt Bharuccha visited the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain. She paid her respects to Lord Mahakal and participated in the *Bhasma Aarti*. Nushrratt shared a photo from the temple and wrote, “Jai Shri Mahakal.” Following this, Maulana Mufti Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, the National President of the All India Muslim Jamaat, strongly objected to her temple visit and her observance of Hindu rituals. He termed this a “*Guna-e-Azeem*” (a grave sin). …termed it contrary to Sharia law and advised Nusrat to repent and recite the Kalma.
Bohra Family
Nusrat belongs to a Muslim Bohra family. However, she has stated that her family has respected all religions since her childhood. According to Nusrat, she has visited Gurudwaras and churches in addition to temples. She has also visited Vaishno Devi and Kedarnath. She offers prayers.
