Delhi, Oct 5: The ‘BrahMos’ missile system has marked a revolutionary milestone in India’s indigenous defense technology and export market. Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh stated that India’s defense export revenue is poised to cross the $600 million (over Rs.5,000 crore) mark. BrahMos missiles have already been supplied to the Philippines, and major agreements have been finalized to supply the missile to key Southeast Asian nations, namely Indonesia and Vietnam.

The Air Force variant of the BrahMos missile has been successfully integrated into the Indian Air Force’s Sukhoi-30 fighter jets and has garnered significant global demand. Its capabilities were also proven during ‘Operation Sindhur’. Praising this achievement, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh remarked, “BrahMos is not merely a missile; it is a global symbol of India’s indigenous prowess and sovereignty.”

India’s defence exports have witnessed a massive surge, creating history by reaching Rs.38,424 crore in the 2025-26 financial year. Exports by Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) saw a massive jump of 151%, contributing Rs.21,071 crore (a 54.84% share).
