Kalaburagi: ‘Prabuddha Academy’ roof collapses within a month

Kalaburagi Mar.02: The ‘Prabuddha Academy’ (pre-exam coaching centre) in Kalaburagi, which was inaugurated with great fanfare with the aim of laying a solid foundation for the future of students from the Kalyan Karnataka region, has now become the focus of controversy. The roof of the academy has collapsed even before a month has passed since its inauguration, and allegations of shoddy workmanship have been made.

Taking this incident into account, the Janata Dal (Secular) (JDS) has launched a strong attack on the state Congress government.

A narrow escape

A portion of the roof suddenly collapsed while students were practicing at Prabuddha Academy. Fortunately, a student who was there narrowly escaped death. The students at the academy are worried about this incident. The condition of the building, which the minister described as the first of its kind in the country, has deteriorated so quickly, which has led to public outrage.

‘Commission Congress government’ – JDS sparks fire

The JDS, which shared photos of this incident, has lashed out at the Congress government on social media ‘X’. ‘Everything is bad in the Commission Congress government! Not even a month has passed since Minister Priyank Kharge inaugurated it, and already the roof has collapsed. The money allocated for the development of the people of Kalyan Karnataka is being wasted on such shoddy works,’ the JDS alleged. It also criticized that it is not right for the government to remain silent even though the life of the student is in danger.

A grand dream, a poor reality?

On January 24, Minister Priyank Kharge had posted with great pride about the ‘Prabuddha Academy’. ‘This is a solid foundation for the future of the youth community of Kalyan Karnataka. 500 students preparing for UPSC and KPSC exams will be provided free and quality training here.’

Building roof collapses before monsoon

The government had projected that this center, with modern technology, digital library, well-equipped library, mentoring rooms and a capacity of 500 students, would be a boon to the students of Kalyan Karnataka. However, the fact that the roof of the building collapsed in the first monsoon or within a short period of time has raised a big question mark on the quality of the work.

Who is responsible?

This center was supposed to be a refuge for the dreams of poor and talented students preparing for competitive exams. However, now the building itself is collapsing, raising concerns about the safety of the students. There are demands that the government immediately investigate this shoddy work and take action against the contractors and officials concerned.
