New Delhi: The Central Government has now taken strict measures to prevent artificial shortage and black market of LPG cylinders in the country.

New guidelines have been issued to ensure that there is no disruption in gas supply. To prevent hoarding of gas cylinders, the period between two bookings has been increased from 21 days to 25 days.
Earlier, those who used to book cylinders once every 55 days are now booking them in just 15 days due to the fear of war. A new rule has been implemented to control this.
The Government has instructed to give first priority to domestic consumers over commercial cylinders. The Government has clarified that “the interest of domestic consumers is important to us”.
The Government has ordered domestic refineries to increase LPG production to the maximum level. The government is in talks with new countries to achieve self-reliance in gas supply. Algeria, Australia, Canada and Norway have come forward to sell LPG to India, sources said.
