Mangaluru: Indian Institute of Skill Development and Research (IISDR) in association with SDM College of Business Management Post Graduate Centre for Management Studies & Research successfully organized a workshop titled “New Labour Codes: The Way Forward” on 18 May 2026 at the SDM Conference Hall, Mangaluru, in view of the observance of International HR Day.






The session was delivered by Arun Kumar S, Assistant Manager – HR at Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited. In his insightful address, he highlighted the practical dimensions of labour law reforms, statutory compliance mechanisms, industrial relations practices, and the increasing role of digital HR systems in adapting to the changing legal environment. His industry-oriented approach and practical examples enabled participants to gain a deeper and clearer understanding of the subject.
The workshop served as an effective platform for meaningful interaction and exchange of ideas on labour reforms, employee relations, and the future of human resource management. The interactive question-and-answer session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, making the programme highly engaging and informative.
The event was graced by Arundathi Hegde, Deputy Director of IISDR, as Guest of Honour. The presence of academicians, industry experts, and students added value to the deliberations and strengthened the academic-industry interface.The programme was conducted under the visionary leadership and guidance of Dr. Steevan Pinto, Program Chair, Leadership Connect 2026.
