Bengaluru: An investigation has been ordered into the protest of a man alleging that his pregnant wife was stuck in her vehicle due to traffic restrictions imposed for VIP traffic.
The incident that took place on Old Airport Road in Bengaluru on Sunday has now received widespread news, and after a video of the pregnant woman’s husband staging a sit-in went viral on social media, the police said that an investigation has been ordered into the incident on Monday.
Traffic was completely stopped on the city’s Old Airport Road yesterday for about 30 minutes in view of the Governor’s visit. This created a massive traffic jam, and the public expressed extreme anger.
The traffic system was completely disrupted due to the sudden closure of the road, which was narrowed earlier due to underpass work, without making any alternative arrangements. Amidst this traffic jam, a man who was urgently taking his pregnant wife got stuck and protested by sitting in the middle of the road, unable to take his pregnant wife to the hospital.

The woman’s husband, who was extremely worried about this situation, sat on the road and expressed his deep dissatisfaction against the action of the authorities. Expressing concern about his wife’s health, he said that it is not right to ignore the urgent needs of ordinary citizens for VIP traffic. She is pregnant in the car. During the protest, he stood in the middle of the road and shouted slogans against the authorities, and some people at the scene supported his anger. The user who shared the video wrote in his post, “Old Airport Road is already suffering from heavy traffic due to underpass work. Today, traffic was completely stopped for about 30 minutes for the movement of the Governor’s motorcade. A man who was taking his pregnant wife got stuck in this traffic. When will the convenience of the public be as important as the convenience of VIPs?” he asked.
Responding to this, the police ordered an investigation
A senior traffic police officer, responding to this, said that an investigation has already been initiated into the case and the actual details of the incident are being examined. Appropriate action will be taken based on the investigation report.
