A fire broke out due to a fault in the electrical equipment, causing smoke to appear, and passengers ran to safer places. Fortunately, a major disaster was averted due to timely action by the railway officials.
According to sources, an 11 kV high-tension power line that suddenly broke and fell on the train, causing passengers to immediately stay inside the train in fear.
As soon as the incident was reported, railway staff and electricity department officials rushed to the spot and disconnected the power supply. Train services resumed after the technical staff cleared the damaged wire and declared the route safe.
According to railway officials, a short circuit occurred in the electrical panel of the station, resulting in smoke. Noticing the situation, railway staff immediately woke up and cordoned off the area and took safety measures.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and emergency services teams rushed to the spot and temporarily disconnected the power supply to the affected area. This helped prevent the fire from spreading further.
Fire brigade personnel also reached the spot and inspected the spot. The situation was brought under control in no time and no major incident occurred.
No one is in danger :
No one was injured or lost their lives in the incident, railway officials said. Train services resumed after the safety check was completed, with only a few trains experiencing minor delays.
Initial investigation revealed that an electrical fault was the cause of the short circuit. Technical teams are conducting a detailed investigation into the exact cause and the damage caused to the electrical system. The Railways has assured that necessary precautionary measures will be taken to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
