Don’t beg in Saudi Arabia, you could be deported: Pakistan warns Haj pilgrims

Islamabad, Aug 19: Pakistan has issued a strict advisory to its citizens travelling to Saudi Arabia for the Haj pilgrimage.

Pakistan has warned its citizens against begging, illegal collection of money and violation of Saudi visa rules. The Pakistani embassy in Saudi Arabia has sent a message targeting Umrah pilgrims and workers.

It has urged Pakistani nationals to fully comply with Saudi laws and the conditions attached to their visas. It has warned that violating the conditions will lead to arrest and deportation.

The embassy has shared an AI-generated video on social media under the title “Important message to all Umrah pilgrims and workers from Pakistan”.

Saudi Arabia has amended the rules for the one-year multiple-entry Umrah visa, introduced in July, to require pilgrims to book an approved service package for each visit. The visa is valid for 365 days from the date of issue, allowing pilgrims to stay for a total of 90 days.
