Chamarajanagar: There has been a significant development in the shootout case of three people in the Hanur forest area by forest personnel, as the postmortem examination of the deceased and the report of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) have been made available to the media. Through this, many interesting facts including the real situation behind the shootout have been revealed.
Gunshot wounds to the chest, abdomen, thigh
The postmortem examination of the bodies of the deceased Antoniswamy, Peter and Kumar was conducted at the KR Hospital in Mysore. The report clearly records the details of which parts of the bodies of the deceased were hit by the bullets and how many inches deep they penetrated. The examination confirmed that the three had gunshot wounds to the chest, abdomen and thigh.
Gunpowder primer found in underwear
On the other hand, the FSL report has revealed more serious details. Gunpowder primers were found in the underwear of the deceased Antoniswamy and Peter. The FSL report also mentions that the shooting took place at close range in this incident.
Police questioned 12 forest guards
The police have intensified their investigation into the case and have questioned a total of 12 forest guards from the Holemuri Datti and Hunters’ Hill Anti-Poaching Camp who were present at the scene on the day of the incident and have collected information. In addition, the investigators have also recorded the statement of Mahimdas, the only eyewitness to the case.
Interestingly, this same Mahimdas, who is the fourth accused for the forest department, is a key eyewitness in the police murder investigation, and the police are now trying to uncover the true truth of the incident by comparing his statement with the details given by 12 forest personnel.
