Bengaluru: After Valmiki Development Corporation, now there have been allegations of huge illegality in Devaraja Urs Development Corporation.

A complaint has been filed with Government Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh alleging irregularities and kickbacks in the tender process for purchase of sewing machines.
According to the complainant Paramesh, the tender was set to purchase a sewing machine worth about Rs.10,000 for Rs.17,000, and transparency was not maintained in this process. The complaint alleges that illegality occurred while awarding the tender to a person from the state, and behind this, a scam worth about Rs.5 to Rs.6 crore took place.
The complainants have urged the government to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into these allegations and take appropriate action against the guilty. Following this, the BJP has strongly criticized the state government.
In a post on social media, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly R. Ashok said that after Valmiki Corporation, the allegations of irregularities being heard in Devaraja Urs Corporation are another example of the state Congress government’s rampant corruption.
It is highly condemnable that allegations of corruption are being heard even on the purchase of sewing machines that were supposed to reach poor women for the welfare of backward communities. The state government must answer the allegations that Golmal has taken place in the very projects designed for the welfare of the people. He demanded that the truth be revealed, an impartial investigation be conducted against the guilty and strict action be taken.
