Mangaluru: HYDGEN will host HYDGEN Innovation Day 2026 on October 15, 2026, at its new manufacturing facility in Ganjimutt, Mangaluru, which has an annual production capacity of 20 MW.
The event will showcase HYDGEN’s manufacturing capabilities and its efforts to make hydrogen production more accessible and cost-effective for Indian industries. The company will unveil its 250 kW Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) and Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolysers, designed, assembled and tested at its Mangaluru facility.

The initiative aims to address the challenges faced by industries that depend on hydrogen supplied through cylinders and tube trailers. Industries such as lab-grown diamonds, specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals and semiconductors incur significant expenses on hydrogen compression, transportation and storage. On-site hydrogen generation can help reduce these costs, improve supply reliability and minimise production disruptions.
The programme will begin with a guided tour of the HYDGEN facility, offering visitors an opportunity to observe stack assembly, system integration, testing and hydrogen quality checks.
Dr. Ashish Lele, Director of CSIR–National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, will deliver the keynote address on transitioning hydrogen technologies from laboratory research to commercial applications in India.
Expert talks and panel discussions will focus on scaling membrane electrolysers from pilot projects to multi-megawatt plants, the industrial benefits of on-site hydrogen generation and financing strategies to reduce hydrogen production costs.
The event will be attended by chief guests Shri M. B. Patil, Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, Government of Karnataka; Shri U. T. Khader, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka; Captain Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha; and Dr. Y. Bharath Shetty, MLA, Mangaluru City North.
Policymakers, government officials, researchers, academicians, investors and entrepreneurs from across India are also expected to participate.

HYDGEN aims to strengthen India’s hydrogen manufacturing ecosystem by producing reliable hydrogen generation systems at scale and developing a local component supplier base in Mangaluru. Through its new facility, the company seeks to serve industrial customers across India and international markets.
Earlier, on October 13, a press conference was held at the Mangaluru Press Club to brief the media about HYDGEN Innovation Day 2026 and the company’s manufacturing initiatives.
The HYDGEN team members who participated in the press conference included Dr. Krishna Kumar, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO); Ramya Shree D.S., Corporate Director; Sanjay Narayanan, Chief of Staff; Amritesh Shukla, Executive Vice President – Human Resources and Transformation; Venkatarama P.K., Assistant Vice President – Manufacturing; and Chandrashekhara Aithal, Vice President – Administration and Facilities Management.
The company invited members of the press to visit the facility, interact with its team and guests, and explore the role of indigenously manufactured hydrogen technologies in supporting India’s industrial growth.
