Mangaluru: The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Mangaluru, in association with the IETE Student Forum, will organise ELECTROTHON 2026, a 24-hour hackathon, from September 18 to 19, 2026, at the college campus.

The hackathon, themed “Industry IoT/Safety,” aims to provide engineering students with a platform to transform innovative ideas into practical solutions to real-world challenges. The event will focus on developing skills in problem-solving, embedded systems, Internet of Things (IoT), electronics, programming, teamwork and rapid prototyping.

Students from various engineering institutions are expected to participate in the 24-hour technical challenge. The event will provide participants with an opportunity to collaborate, develop prototypes and explore technology-driven solutions related to industrial IoT and safety.

Each participating team will consist of four members, with at least one female member in every team. Participants will remain on the campus throughout the hackathon. Basic medical assistance and necessary support facilities will be made available at the venue to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all participants.

Dr. Anush Bekal, Professor and Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, said the hackathon is intended to encourage students to apply their technical knowledge to practical engineering problems while gaining hands-on experience in emerging technologies, rapid prototyping and collaborative innovation.

The hackathon is being organised by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, in association with the IETE Student Forum.

Interested students can register for the event by scanning the QR code provided in the official event poster.
