Puttur: The 50th birthday of Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Principal of St Philomena College (Autonomous), Puttur, was celebrated with warmth and affection by the teaching and non-teaching staff of the institution. Rev. Fr. Dr J.B. Saldanha, Correspondent of the college, who presided over the programme, felicitated Dr Monteiro and lauded his visionary. leadership, discipline, spirit of service and simplicity. He expressed the hope that under Dr Montero’s able leadership, the college would achieve greater milestones in the academic and administrative spheres. Fr. Saldanha wished Dr Monteiro greater opportunities and success in his future. Former Principal of the college, Prof. Leo Noronha, felicitated Dr Montero with a bouquet, recalling his long association with the institution and reminisced about his days of interaction with Dr Monteiro and shared memories of his enduring relationship with the college. He also fondly remembered the former principals who had contributed to the growth of the institution. Members of the teaching faculty felicitated Dr Montero and offered prayers for his good health, long life and continued success in his leadership of the institution.
Responding to the felicitation, Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro expressed his gratitude to the teaching and non-teaching staff for celebrating his 50th birthday in such a warm and affectionate manner. He thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the programme.
Vice-Principal Dr Vijayakumar Moleyar welcomed the gathering. Dean of the Science, Dr Malini delivered the felicitation address, while Dean of the Commerce Premalatha proposed the vote of thanks. Prashanth Rai led the prayer, and Sushma Crasta compered the programme.
The programme was coordinated under the leadership of Vice-Principal Dr Vijayakumar Moleyar, with the coordination of Staff Association president Dr Dimple J. Fernandes and the support of the Secretary Harshith.
Following the programme, a sumptuous lunch was hosted by Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro. Members of the Teaching and Administrative faculty participated in the feast and joined in the celebrations. The programme concluded on a cordial note, marked by the exchange of greetings and a spirit of friendship and fellowship.
